“My wife and I worked with Paul for several years consulting on 3 different residences of ours, all with unique aspects and styles (City, rural/coastal, mountains).
I never really knew a lot about the importance of having an architect, much less an extremely talented one. No matter how good your builder or designer and their in house architect is, it really helps to have your own. Paul was such a window into possibilities and vision. He took our most general concepts that we had and fleshed it all out into a masterpiece. Creating a style and options that I could never have imagined. He worked on urban stylish aspects for us, a full bahamian style pool area and bungalow, our Santa Fe NM house style and our beach house. Every time he brought something to the table that no one else did and we always valued that contribution. He is very creative generally and super talented in his profession. He's very well rounded and he even fixed some landscape design issues. He's also a good team member and works well with the other contractors which is very important, and understands a budget structure. I highly recommend interviewing Paul for any construction job!”
“We chose Paul as our architect because of his years of experience, as well as liking the projects he had done. After meeting with him several times, it was confirmed even more that he was very perceptive in picking up our taste and style, that he was very easy to communicate with, and that he cared about quality, yet at the same time very mindful of staying within our budget. We were not easy clients because we were not sure what we wanted, but he pulled it out of us and designed a house far more beautiful than we could have ever envisioned.
Paul is extremely creative with space and has a good eye for details that make all the difference in the feel of a room. He took time to measure what we had in the main closets, kitchen, and garage of our original home, and designed the new house, built on the same lot, to hold what we had and more. He took advantage of the placement of each room and window to bring in the most light. Paul set goals and deadlines in the design phase and met each one.
When we began construction, Paul had exceptional leadership and oversight throughout the project. It was a team effort and really a fun experience for us. Paul always responded quickly to every text, email, or phone call. He came to every meeting with the 'team' and made sure his plans were followed accurately. He had everyone's respect and he instilled a desire in the team to build a quality home.
The longer we live in our home, the more we appreciate all Paul thought through and the details he designed to make our home unique. We could not more highly recommend him. He is an extremely gifted architect and was a pure pleasure to work with.”
“I highly recommend Paul. Paul has a very strong design sense and abilities, and I believe this sets him apart, because not only can he bring the mechanical and functional aspects of architecture to the project, but the artful detail as well. Additionally, Paul is a wonderful advocate for the client to ensure plans are executed as documented and envisioned. He has the construction knowledge and deep experience to work with the builder to help solve any issue that may arise. I found his project management and organizational skills to be key in the project’s success, keeping all team members on task, but able to do so in clear and professional way. I trust Paul and would absolutely go back to him for future projects.”
“We decided to work with Paul on our master bathroom / bedroom remodel for our 1940’s house after interviewing several architects and interior designers. Paul was a pleasure to work with and we are so glad we were introduced to him through this project.
Paul took the time to get to know us, our house and our wishes for the remodel. He listened, educated and guided us throughout the entire process. We took everything down to the studs and Paul spent a lot of time thinking about how we would use and enjoy the space while still making it fit seamlessly into an 80-year-old house. He not only considered the interior finishes to ensure the remodel matched, but also the exterior appearance to keep our home a cohesive look from outside. During the design process we were torn on some decisions and we were thankful for Paul’s advice and input to help align with our initial vision.
The end product is better than we could have ever imagined and the attention Paul put into the small details is noticeable every day.”
“We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Paul. He helped us create our dream house.
Paul really listened to our ideas and understood our way of living and the desire for beauty and the need for function and flow. He did thorough research, meticulously presented the drawings, gave us substantial support and perfectly crystallized our thoughts into an aesthetically pleasing design and paid attention to the smallest of details.
Paul is down to earth and has his clients' best interest at heart. He is very patient and was always available to us which really helped keep things flowing and made for a great experience!”
“Our 1971 vintage home had a lot of potential and a lot of problems. It had a wonderful long gallery hallway adjacent to living, dining, wet bar, kitchen, breakfast and family room. Beyond that, things started to get a little weird. The flooring in the contiguous areas alternated between old saltillo and terrazzo. Our kitchen was about 10x12 and had a dropped 8 foot ceiling with fur downs, strange entrances and exits as well as view-obstructing overhead cabinetry. The refrigerator doors, when open, blocked access, effectively trapping the unwilling chef inside a dark, cramped kitchen. Hosting guests was difficult because guests didn’t have anywhere to 'hang out' that wasn’t in the middle of the cooking triangle.
Enter Paul Brow.
His ideas were brilliant. By removing weight-bearing walls and raising ceilings, we converted our breakfast nook and kitchen into an enormous eat-in kitchen. Two huge windows and sinks. An 11 foot island with storage. Gorgeous floor to ceiling cabinetry and beautiful multi-layered lighting. A new pantry entrance allowed for a wet bar with liquor cabinets, drawers and a wine fridge. Paul doesn’t shy away from dramatic choices but also uses his knowledge of construction to suggest cost-effective solutions.
He helped us find a timeless solution for our hodgepodge flooring, within our budget! We ripped out over 1500 feet of flooring, replacing with classic 3-inch European white oak. He asked me to measure our cookware, appliances, glassware, wine bottles, etc. to make sure that cabinetry could accommodate everything we needed. We decided to install an extra prep sink. He designed a stunning 60-inch range hood for us that would highlight the symmetry of the space and provide a visual grounding point for the design. This was an expensive piece of equipment, but at installation, I understood the wisdom of what he had suggested.
In our powder room, he designed a modern wall-mounted cabinet and faucet that was elegant and simple, but along with the wallpaper created a gorgeous retreat. He designed custom windows and a mahogany front door and entry paneling that provided an entirely new experience for anyone entering our home. After we approved the specifics of the design, he helped us interview General Contractors and gave us guidance as to what we could expect realistically from the process. We were extremely pleased to work with Philip Morrisett of Morrisett Builders.
Because of Paul's expertise and understanding of supply chain timelines, he advised us to select and order all appliances and hardware well before we ever started our project. He cares about grout, paint colors, fixtures, and knobs. No detail escapes him. His taste is impeccable. His attention to detail, superb. His work, timeless. His standard, perfection. We laughed a lot during the process, and cried very little! My motto whenever I had a question was: 'Better call Paul.' And you should too.”
