Who are we?

Prior to coming together at PNBA, our senior staff enjoyed nearly three decades of collaboration in various combinations within some of the region's premier residential architecture firms. This long history forms the foundation of our culture built on high mutual regard, shared values, and the pursuit of excellence. Together, we bring more than a century of combined experience in high-end residential design to serve our clients’ needs.

Our guiding principles include professional integrity, tireless problem solving, meticulous documentation, deep construction knowledge, and unwavering client advocacy. We believe that architectural oversight throughout the construction process is critically important to achieving the outcomes our clients expect. Every action is undertaken with awareness of the responsibility we have as stewards of our clients’ resources.

We recognize that the decision to hire an architect is often driven by practical needs, not just the dream of creating a magazine worthy showpiece. More often, it begins with a problem—something that’s limiting functionality, comfort, or livability. These challenges are rarely straightforward—they're often deeply rooted, highly complex, and resistant to simple solutions.

This is where we excel. Drawing on decades of experience, we listen carefully, analyze thoroughly, and identify design possibilities that others would overlook. Our process consistently produces innovative, highly tailored solutions— surpassing what our clients had ever imagined possible.

Aesthetic considerations are neither an overpowering force nor a superficial afterthought of our design process; rather, they are carefully woven into every decision along the way to create spaces and structures that are not only highly functional, but also appropriately scaled, materially rich, harmonious, and architecturally coherent.

Meet the Team

Paul N. Brow, AIA - President

Bio:

Paul is a licensed architect with over 25 years of high-end residential experience. In 2015, he founded PNBA after serving as Director of Architecture for a boutique architecture, construction, and development company. Prior to that, Paul spent 15 years building a portfolio of accomplished, award-winning residential architecture, holding leadership positions with two of the region's most esteemed practices.

Paul has worked throughout Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, and Rhode Island. His projects have been featured in numerous publications & home tours and have been recognized for design excellence by the American Institute of Architects, the Institute for Classical Architecture & Art, and the prestigious national Palladio Awards Program.

Paul graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Architecture in 1997 where he was Salutatorian of his class. Since graduating, he has returned to UH to teach design studio and serve as a guest critic on student design reviews. Although a long time resident of the Houston area, Paul was born in Michigan and lived in North Dakota, Maryland, and Arizona prior to his family settling in Texas.

Q & A:

When did you first know you wanted to be an architect?

I stumbled into my career.  Although I was a reasonably good student and had the requisite aptitude for drawing and math, I showed up to college orientation as undeclared. I roomed with a high-school buddy who had been accepted to the architecture program. I decided to tag along to his orientation because I didn't want to be stuck with all the undeclared losers (like me). After the Dean's presentation, I inquired about getting into the program. He asked for my name & social and sent me on my way. When I showed up the next day, he handed me a letter of acceptance. In the fall, I learned that I had magically skipped a bunch of steps that all my classmates had gone through.

What was your favorite class in college?

It's hard to remember much besides Studio. But there was one old-school professor who taught architectural history electives—each supposedly focused on a different time period, though what he was really teaching was critical thinking. His classes were notorious and absolutely grueling, but I believe this is the origin of my interest in underlying forces.

What do you like to do outside of being an architect?
Up until recently, most all of our free time was spent raising our three kids. Our youngest is now off to college so it's time to figure that out. We love to cheer-on the Houston Cougars men's basketball team and I have a classic car that I enjoy tinkering with. I'm a fan of Gladwell-ian contemporary nonfiction. Also, it turns out that my wife is pretty cool and I like hanging out with her.

What's your superpower?

I think I have two: 1) I can keep one eye zoomed out to see the big picture while using the other to zoom in on all the details. 2) I'm a finisher.

What's your favorite movie or TV show?

We've recently started watching TV again after years of being too busy with kids. There are so many great shows on right now, but The Bear is probably my favorite! It somehow captures the essence of the shared pursuit of excellence by a team of creatives in a way that I've never seen before. Passion & purpose can be incredibly powerful!

Rudy Fabre, AIA, NCARB - Senior Project Manager

Bio:

Rudy grew up in Houston, spending summers in Mexico with family. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Houston and is a licensed architect with nearly 30 years of experience in residential design and construction. His career spans notable architecture firms as well as his own ventures, including a development & construction company and a successful residential architecture practice.

Rudy’s comprehensive understanding of the residential project development process—from design through construction—makes him a trusted advisor and resource for clients and colleagues alike. His work has been widely recognized, with several projects earning awards and publication features. One of his independent projects was recently featured as the cover story for Texas Architect magazine.

Rudy and Paul have known one another since their first day of architecture school in 1992 and have worked together in different contexts over the years. Rudy has been a frequent collaborator on PNBA projects since the firm's inception. Known for his calm demeanor, thoughtful insights, and ability to truly listen, Rudy is a steady source of perspective within the PNBA team and a trusted sounding board for Paul.

Rudy serves as the office DJ, keeping the team energized with his carefully curated playlists and is always ready to take requests on the fly. He enjoys sharing factoids about the 1900s with the office youngsters and, given the chance, will happily reminisce about the Houston Oilers or the ’94 and ’95 Rockets. A proud Houston Cougar, Rudy is a longtime season ticket holder for football and basketball—GO COOGS!

Mason Kelly - Architectural Intern

Bio:

Mason grew up in Buffalo, New York, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University at Buffalo. He later moved to Houston to complete his Master of Architecture at the University of Houston. His upbeat, positive attitude and eagerness to take on any challenge have quickly made him a valuable contributor. In a short time, he’s played a key role in advancing PNBA’s 3D visualization capabilities for client presentations. Mason is currently honing the critical skill of architectural coordination, ensuring that changes made during the exploration of floor plan and interior elevation variations are consistently and accurately integrated across all related drawings for a building. David has recently taken Mason under his wing to teach him the fine art of site documentation for houses slated for renovation—a process Mason has embraced with his characteristic positivity.

Mason’s curiosity, collaborative spirit, and youthful enthusiasm bring a fresh burst of energy to the PNBA studio. Annie B. Uribe - Marketing & Office Administrator

Bio:

Annie grew up in the Houston area and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Digital Media from the University of Houston. From a young age, she demonstrated a creative spirit and entrepreneurial drive—her unquenchable appetite for art supplies as a child evolved into a middle school style blog, Etsy and Redbubble shops, and eventual deep dives into graphic design, marketing, and photography. Like many in her generation, she instinctively grasped the marketing potential of social media platforms long before most business owners recognized their value.

As the eldest daughter of an architect, Annie has been immersed in the residential architecture and construction industry her entire life. She’s been visiting construction sites and architectural offices since she was a toddler. In fact, she set up PNBA’s Instagram account during a family vacation to Seaside, Florida in 2017—while still in high school—and later built out the firm’s initial website in 2019. After graduating from college and launching her own photography business, Annie continued to support PNBA in her spare time by managing social media posts. Over time, her responsibilities expanded to include photo editing, website management, and growing the firm's digital presence across the ever-expanding list of platforms. In 2024, her role with PNBA expanded when she took on the responsibilities of office administrator—ensuring paychecks go out, bills get paid, and invoices are sent—freeing Paul to focus his time on its highest and best use—leading design efforts and serving clients.

Annie’s positive energy and helpful spirit enrich our collaborative studio culture. Her ability to balance the demands of a growing photography business alongside her expanding role with the firm reflects her dedication, character, and strong  work ethic. We are excited to support her continued growth and look forward to celebrating her future successes—both at PNBA and beyond.
